Up to about 2,900 characters. Nothing is sent anywhere; the code is built in this browser.
The downloaded PNG is exactly this size, which is what a phone camera needs.
Higher levels survive a logo covering part of the code, but fit less content.
Your QR code
Enter text or a link above and the QR code will appear here.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. The QR code is generated in your browser, so whatever you type never leaves your device. That includes a private message, a password or an internal link.
Roughly 2,900 characters of plain text at the lowest error correction level, and less for a URL because its characters take more space. Long enough for a message, a link or a set of contact details.
Medium for a code on a clean screen. Choose High if you plan to print it on something that might get scuffed, or overlay a logo on it. At High, the code can lose up to a quarter of itself and still scan.
512 px suits a screen, and 1024 px is better for printing or for scanning from across a room. The size you pick is the exact pixel size of the PNG.
